Renewable Energy Trust reaches 1 MW of PV
Another MW in the pipeline
The Massachusetts
Renewable Energy Trust has reached 1 megawatt of PV systems under contract.
The megawatt of PV is made up of 242 PV systems that are being installed
through the Trust's Green Buildings, Green Schools
and Solar to Market Initiative programs.
The Trust has another megawatt of PV in
the pipeline, including 12 green schools, 22 green buildings and the 500 kW
Brockton Brightfield PV project.

growing technology companies
Named to Deloitte & Touche "Fast 50" list
SEBANE member Evergreen Solar of Marlboro, MA has been
named to the New England Technology Fast 50 list.
The annual ranking designates the
fastest-growing companies located in Massachusetts,
New Hampshire, Vermont,
Maine and Rhode Island by revenue growth. The
ranking is conducted by Deloitte & Touche and Wilmer Cutler Pickering
Hale and Dorr.
Spire
provides solar systems for Chicago's Millennium Park
Mayor Daley embraces solar
SEBANE member Spire Corp. of Bedford,
MA has provided five additional building
integrated photovoltaics ("BIPV") systems for Chicago's
Millennium Park. The BIPV systems can be seen
on the Exelon Pavilions, which house the elevators leading to the
underground parking garage and the information center. The structures are
glass cubes; four sides of which are BIPV curtain walls.
According to Chicago Mayor Richard M.
Daley, "Using solar electricity at Millennium Park
is consistent with our goal as a city to expand the use of renewable
energy. Chicago
is committed to leading by example and incorporating technology that will
not only save money but is good for the environment and the overall quality
of life for our residents."
GT
Solar signs $14 million contract with Taiwanese firm
Will add up to 50 manufacturing jobs
GT Solar Technologies of Merrimack, NH, a manufacturer of PV
wafer, cell and module manufacturing equipment, has signed a $14 million
contract to install a turnkey multi-crystal silicon wafer manufacturing
line at Green Energy Technology Inc. a new subsidiary of Tatung Company in
Taiwan. GT Solar expects to add up to 50 manufacturing jobs.
New Hampshire Governor Craig Benson joined
GT Solar and Tatung executives in
announcing the contract at GT Solar's facility. "There's a huge
potential market opportunity for the technologies that are being delivered
right here from GT Equipment Technologies," Benson said.

Named for second consecutive year
Konarka Technologies, Inc. has been named to the AlwaysOn Top
100 Private Companies list for the second consecutive year.
The list is compiled by AlwaysOn, an open
source media company, and KPMG's emerging business practice, KPMG 1Start.
The Top 100 List features companies that have demonstrated leadership and
innovation in two key areas: market traction measured by revenue or

CT
residential PV proposals due August 27
The first round of proposals for the Connecticut Clean
Energy Fund's residential PV program are due August 27.
The CT Fund has launched a 3-year program
to support the installation of residential PV systems. The Fund is
selecting a limited number of installers that will be eligible for the
initial block of funding.
